Begründung zur Anwesenheitpflicht Der Kompetenzerwerb erfolgt durch das gemeinsame Verstehen, Analysieren, Diskutieren und Hinterfragen wissenschaftlicher Arbeiten. Neben der Vermittlung von Fachwissen wird die Diskursbereitschaft und -fähigkeit gefördert, was sowohl die sprachliche Ausdrucksfähigkeit als auch die Teilhabe am öffentlichen Austausch praktisch einübt.

In addition to the above required materials, a workbook with exercises and sample texts will be provided in OLAT. It is a requirement to have access to all of these materials. In many cases, both online and print versions are often available. Based on your own preferences, you may choose the format that best suits your needs.

All of the material required in class will be made available online for you to download. As part of the course, you will be asked to search for additional texts and material.

Bemerkung

If you do not attend the first session of a course, you will lose your Zulassung (ZU) and your spot might go to a fellow student on the waiting list (WL). Should you have an important reason for missing the first session of a course (e.g. illness), you have to inform the instructor and the secretary in advance. For absences due to illness you have to submit a medical certificate. If you do not notify us and/or do not have an important reason, you will get the lowest priority for getting a spot in this course in later semesters.

Voraussetzungen

B.Ed. Englisch (alte PO, bis SS 2021)

Prerequisites: Competences from M1 & M2; this means that you need to have successfully passed both modules before taking part in any of the M4 courses.

 

Strongly recommended temporal sequence of courses in M 4 and M 5 ("alte PO" )

Semester 1: attend M 4.3 Writing Skills before you attend M 4.1 Literatures in English and M 4.2 Varieties of English, attend M 5.1

Semester 2: attend M 4.1 and M 4.2, attend M 5.2/5.3/5.44, sign up for the M 4 exam, and start to write the term paper for M 5

Semester 3: implement the feedback (second copy) you received for M 4 in your M 5 term paper, revise the term paper, sign up, and submit

B.Ed. Englisch (neue PO, ab WS 21/22) 

Die neuen Modulhandbücher/Vorrausetzungen zur Kursteilnahme (Stand Oktober 2021) gelten für Sie genau dann, wenn das SS 2022 Ihr erstes oder zweites Fachsemester Englisch bzw. Anglistik und Amerikanistik im jeweiligen Studiengang war.

Prerequisites: Competences from M1, M2 & M3.3; this means that you need to have successfully passed both modules (M1 & M2) and the 'Teilmodul 3.3' before taking part in any of the M4 courses.

Attendance Policy:

This course requires regular participation and real-time interaction in class to promote the learning objectives of holistic English language acquisition and discourse competence to meet the exam requirements within the framework of Content-and-Language-Integrated Learning.

Leistungsnachweis

The written exam will take the form of a portfolio. In addition to other oral and short writing tasks in the individual courses, you are asked to write 2 essays of 800-1000 words in linguistics.
