“The most dangerous phrase in the language is, ‘We’ve always done it this way.’” (Grace Hopper)
In this practically oriented workshop we will look at the world that lies beyond simple words and phrases. Unwritten rules that explain “how the land lies” aka. “wie der Hase läuft”, as well as non-verbal communication often have a great influence on whether communication is successful. Getting an understanding of tiny differences in intercultural communication in which context and nuances define how individuals and groups communicate is central to reflect upon communication patterns. By looking at advertisements, written transcultural communication and practice-based experiments we will reflect upon these patterns to enrich our non-verbal repertoire with tools to become more aware of what is said between the lines in intercultural communication.
Students of all disciplines are welcome. Der Workshop ist geöffnet für Studierende aller Fachrichtungen.
